The Unattended Weeping

The cocker who was never adopted   - Gimy 10/02/1997

There was a black and white Cocker Spaniel in the stray dogs' foster house of Ms. Du; I didn't know how long he was there. His unfriendliness and high probability of attacking behavior scared away others including Ms. Du.

He had clothes on when he came to foster house, and it hadn't have been removed until the time of castration.

We brought him there when dogs adoption program was held in a shopping center. I was the one who gave him a hair cut. What really surprised me was that he was pretty nice to me. Without hair, he actually looked like a Dalmatian, was very handsome and had healthy skin.

He wasn't adopted that day; I took him back to foster house alone with my motorcycle. During the ride, he got so excited, and I could see him extend his neck... That was the last time I saw him.

Compared to Michael, a lucky dog that I had taken care of before, he was younger and his health condition was much better. Ironically, he died of improper use of anesthetic(narcotics) during a vocal bandectomy operation proceeded by veterinary students.

Even though I felt sad about his death, but perhaps this was the best outcome for his life after all!
